It has always been BMW's trademark to produce the best, most sophisticated, naturally aspirated motors in the world, and these powerplants have been winning Engine of the Year awards for the longest time.

At RDSport we have always believed that our engines should match the configuration of the BMW motor that we set out to modify, as this is the only way to retain the true character of the car, and provide a product that matches the reliability of the original motor.

We are not against forced-induction, as we have some great turbocharged motors of our own, but to transform a naturally aspirated motor into a supercharged powerplant, and do it properly and reliably, would meen re-engineer all of the motor internals, and that would inevitably become a very costly proposition.

The RS46 is truly the motor hat BMW should have installed in the M3 in the first place:  massive torque, blistering acceleration, and a performance that puts most sports cars to shame.

Its engine internals are made from the highest quality materials, and could easiliy withstand the rigors of Formula One. In fact, if you were to compare the piston of an RS46 to that of an F1 motor of only a few seasons past, you would notice how close the two really are.

It is this relentless pusuit of technical excellence that makes the RS46 the better choice; one that you can acquire with confidence, and rest assured that you will be able to drive it day-after-day as if it were a totally stock M3.
